We are now seeking a proactive and detail-driven Management / Financial Accountant to join their growing team. This role offers variety, impact, and the opportunity to assist in shaping the financial health and future growth of the business.
About the Opportunity:
This fantastic new opportunity delivers an excellent blend of work, which spans across financial accounting, management accounting, bookkeeping and payroll functions. This is a key role where your flexibility will be highly valued, particularly around assisting other areas of the business when needed.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and analysing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow) within required timeframes.
- Effectively managing compliance with government and statutory obligations, including ATO, GST, Workers' Compensation, Payroll Tax, and Superannuation, with effective communication to the business on any changes/updates.
- Reconciling accounts and ensuring accurate, up-to-date financial records.
- Supporting the development of the budgeting and forecasting processes, taking into careful consideration other key financial data.
- Assisting and implementing process and system improvements, whilst maintaining the business' ERP.
- Successfully monitoring cash flow, whilst delivering on forward-looking cash flow forecasts.
- Providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Liaising with external and other professional advisors, as required.
- Overseeing and providing accurate & timely payroll processing.
What you'll bring: - Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a closely related discipline will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role across financial/management accounting, reporting, and payroll management ideally within manufacturing or retail.
- Demonstrated ability to apply strong technical accounting skills in both management and financial areas, with a strong eye for detail.
- Proven prior use in accounting software, ERP systems, and MS office suite, particularly MS Excel.
- Experience in the management and processing of payroll.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with a professional approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Excellent work ethic, with the ability to promote and build strong team morale, providing support to other functions when required.
