About the role
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accountant to join our team. This role is essential for providing accurate and compliant financial services to a diverse portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Australian accounting and tax regulations, along with proficiency in Xero and Xero workpapers. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing client accounts, and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.

Duties and responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and compliant financial statements for notice to reader and review engagements.
• Client Management: Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, including corporations and individuals, ensuring timely and accurate service delivery.
• Tax Preparation: Prepare income tax returns and related information returns for various entity types (sole traders, companies, trusts).
• Accounting Analysis: Conduct in-depth accounting analysis and investigations to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Compliance: Adhere to established accounting procedures and guidelines, and stay updated on relevant tax and accounting regulations in Australia.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or CPA qualification.
• At least 2 years of AUSTRALIAN Audit, Tax, or Accounting experience 
• Proficiency in Xero and Xero workpapers.
• Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for various entity types (sole traders, companies, trusts).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of accounting tasks.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
