About the Role
The Clinical Billing Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely patient invoicing for our veterinary clients. This position directly supports our mission of empowering veterinary practices to prioritize patient care over administrative burdens. By conducting meticulous real-time and retrospective audits, you will safeguard our clients' financial integrity, improve their operational efficiency, and contribute to their overall success. You will identify and rectify discrepancies, prevent revenue leakage, and provide actionable insights to help veterinary practices thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed real-time and retrospective audits of client billing processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of charges.
• Ensure consistency in billing across multi-day patient invoices.
• Accurately document all aspects of each audit, including patient names reviewed, charges captured or missed, and any modifications required, using the clinic’s specified reporting database, reflecting client preferences and standards.
• Identify discrepancies and anomalies in billing data and recommend corrective actions to prevent future errors and revenue loss.
• Collaborate with veterinary practice staff to clarify billing procedures and improve charge capture mechanisms.
• Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports that highlight findings, provide insights, and suggest improvements.
• Stay updated on the latest veterinary billing practices and regulations to ensure compliance and best practice implementation.
• Work closely with the technology team to optimize audit tools and software for enhanced efficiency.
• Actively contribute to the ongoing documentation of protocols and procedures.
• Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions to share knowledge and improve internal audit processes.

• Worked from an Australian healthcare or veterinary company for at least 1-2 years
• Experience in conducting detailed financial audits to ensure accuracy and compliance is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to identify billing discrepancies, missed opportunities, and potential areas for improvement.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with common management software and adept at using technology to streamline audit processes and data management.
