About the Role
This Bookkeeper role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, providing vital support to their businesses by managing key accounting functions. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, generating insightful reports, and preparing financial statements for Australian tax lodgement.
Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records using Xero and or Quickbooks
• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
• Manage all aspects of the General Ledger.
• Process accounts receivable/payable.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts across multiple companies.
• Record journal entries as needed.
• Maintain customer, vendor, and employee lists, as well as the chart of accounts.
• Prepare financial reports and work papers by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations for debtor/creditor accounts.
• Process accounts up to Trial Balance stage.
• Prepare financial statements for lodgement with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS).

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 2 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience working with Australian clients/firms
• Hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online or Xero software.
• Experience with bank reconciliations across multiple companies.
• Experience preparing financial statements for ATO lodgment and BAS preparation.
