The Role: As an RN in Long-Term Care (LTC), you will deliver compassionate, high-quality care to residents, managing both medical and personal needs to ensure their comfort and well-being in a supportive, long-term care environment.

Responsibilities:

• Observe, report and record physical and psychological observations/changes in patient condition. Assist with/provide personal hygiene to clients/patients/residents.
• Provide interventional and therapeutic treatments, where required (e.g., wound care, nasogastric catheters, traction, non-stress testing, fetal monitoring, dialysis).
• Administer and record medications (e.g., oral, subcutaneous, pulmonary, rectal, intramuscular).
• Initiate, administer and maintain intravenous therapy (e.g., flow rate, site integrity).
• Provide respiratory and airway care (e.g., tracheostomy, suctioning, oxygen therapy, chest percussion, ventilator).
• Monitor blood glucose and takes appropriate action.
• Provide care and maintenance of Central Lines, Peripherally Inserted Central, Catheter (PICC) lines and portacaths (e.g., give blood and blood products), where required.
• Monitors, interprets and records vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, oxygen saturations, attaches cardiac monitors and telemetry devices).

• Ensure proper nutrition and hydration (e.g., assist/feed, nasogastric, and gastrostomy).

Requirements:

• Current, unrestricted RN license in your current province.
• Bachelor of Science/Diploma in Nursing (RN).
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, and CTAS certification.
• At least, 2-years recent full-time bedside experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative care environment as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound clinical judgment.

Compensation:

Pay Rate: $50 - $56.09/hr
