As an LPN in ER, you will provide patient care in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with acute medical conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct rapid assessments of patients to determine the urgency and severity of injuries or illnesses in a high-pressure environment.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by physicians or advanced practice providers, ensuring prompt and accurate delivery.
- Monitor and document vital signs and critical patient data, including lab results and diagnostic tests, with attention to detail.
- Collaborate with the emergency healthcare team to develop and implement immediate care plans.
- Provide clear communication and support to patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff, adhering strictly to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements: - Completion of a recognized Practical Nursing program.
- Current, unrestricted LPN license in your province.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an emergency setting.
- BLS, CTAS and ACLS certificates are mandatory
- NRP, and PALS certification are assets.
