Job Description – RN Overflow
The Role: As an RN in the Overflow Unit, you will provide essential patient care in a fast-paced and high-demand environment. You will be responsible for assessing patient conditions, administering treatments, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care during overflow situations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to develop and implement appropriate care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses and effectiveness.
- Monitor vital signs and patient data, documenting and reporting any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure patient care plans are updated and adjusted for overflow periods.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding treatment options and discharge instructions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring patient safety.
Requirements: - For RN Position: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a current, unrestricted RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Med-Surg or related healthcare setting in Canada.
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
