As an RN in the Acute Care Unit, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care plans, as well as administering medications and performing diagnostic tests.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans by the healthcare team's policies and procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team.
- Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to provide accurate patient assessments.
- Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and medical history.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and revise patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatments, and preventative care measures.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on healthcare trends and best practices.
Requirements:
- 1 year Acute Care (Med Surg) experience is required within the last 3 years.
- Current and active BLS-HCP is required.
- Current and active ACLS is required and must be provided with submission.
- Current and active FHS (Fetal Health Surveillance) is required and must be provided with submission.
- Current and active NRP is required and must be provided with submission.
- Charge experience and be ready to be in charge on site is required.
- L&D and Post Partum education and experience, demonstrated ability to monitor antepartum and active labor patients.
- Able to manage a med/surg unit as a team, patient care, treatments and medications, ongoing daily care.
- Will be expected to support both L&D and acute care (med/surg) units as operationally required.
