As an RN in Med/Surg Obstetrics, you will provide comprehensive care for patients in the obstetrics unit, managing both medical and surgical aspects of pregnancy and postpartum care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of obstetric patients to evaluate their health status and needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by obstetricians or advanced practice providers.
- Monitor and document vital signs, fetal heart rates, and other critical data accurately.
- Collaborate with the obstetrics team to develop and implement effective care plans for patients during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding childbirth, postpartum care, and infant care.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements: - 1 year of acute care experience (med/surg) is required within the last 5 years.
- Obstetrics and post-partum experience is required.
- Current and active BLS is required.
- Current and active NRP is required
- Current and active FHS is required.
- 2 years OBS experience is preferred.
- Charge nurse experience preferred.
- Connect care trained (Rural nurse, L&D badge, Postpartum badge) preferred.
