Senior Quantity Surveyor – Construction Consultancy
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £60,000–£75,000, DOE

We’re working with a well-established construction consultancy with an impressive portfolio of commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects across the UK and abroad. As their project load increases, they’re looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team and provide cost expertise across the lifecycle of a variety of high-spec builds.
 
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be embedded in projects from pre-construction through to handover—offering commercial and contractual guidance that keeps everything financially watertight. This is an ideal role for someone with a background in client-side or consultancy environments, particularly within the retail, leisure, or hospitality sectors.
You’ll work closely with Project Managers and Directors, clients, and contractors—managing costs, reviewing tenders, and ensuring everything adds up without cutting corners.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cost plans, estimates, and feasibility reports for upcoming projects
• Review and analyse tender returns; manage contractor recommendations
• Monitor project costs throughout delivery and manage change control processes
• Review and approve valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Provide regular reporting on cost performance and project spend
• Attend project and site meetings, providing commercial input at all stages
• Work with the team to improve internal cost processes and systems

• Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a consultancy or client-side setting
• Background in retail, hospitality, or leisure construction is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of cost management, tendering, and contract admin
• Comfortable working independently across multiple projects
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• RICS membership (or working toward it) would be a bonus
