A growing independent school in Vaughan is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and hands-on Principal to provide leadership for the day-to-day operation of the school. Working closely with the ownership group and leadership team, the successful candidate will foster a positive school culture, support academic excellence, develop staff, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the school.

Key Responsibilities - Providing overall leadership for the day-to-day operation of the school while fostering a safe, organized, professional, and student-centred learning environment.
- Working collaboratively with the ownership group and leadership team to establish priorities, implement strategic initiatives, and achieve the school's vision and goals.
- Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, mentoring, supervising, supporting, and evaluating teaching, administrative, and support staff while promoting accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Providing instructional leadership by supporting curriculum implementation, monitoring teaching and learning, student achievement, assessment and reporting practices, and ensuring compliance with Ontario Ministry of Education requirements.
- Overseeing student attendance, behaviour, school culture, and ensuring the consistent implementation of school policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Building positive and professional relationships with students, parents, staff, and the broader school community while addressing concerns in a timely and respectful manner.
- Overseeing student records, Ontario Student Records (OSRs), Ministry reporting, scheduling, report cards, transcripts, graduation requirements, and other administrative responsibilities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Supporting admissions, student recruitment, enrolment, retention, school events, marketing initiatives, and community engagement to contribute to the continued growth of the school.
- Monitoring the daily operation of the school, including facilities, health and safety, operational planning, emergency preparedness, and ensuring the school is prepared for each school day.
- Identifying opportunities to improve school operations, staff performance, student outcomes, organizational effectiveness, and operational efficiency while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Representing the school professionally with students, families, staff, community partners, and external organizations.
- Performing other leadership and administrative responsibilities consistent with the role of Principal.
Qualifications - Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification in good standing.
- Principal's Qualification Program (PQP) completed or in progress is considered an asset.
- Previous leadership experience in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Education policies, procedures, inspections, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, coaching, and supporting staff.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships while maintaining high professional standards, accountability, and sound judgment.
- Experience with Ontario Ministry inspections, compliance, and the operation of an Ontario private school is considered a strong asset.
- Experience working in an independent or private school environment is considered an asset.
