About the Role We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team based our Lane Cove, NSW Office on a full-time project contract basis. Reporting to the Project Director you be responsible for leading the end-to-end engineering delivery of large-scale Renewable projects, from FID through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
In addition, some of your key tasks will include;
- Coordinate engineering design across multiple BESS projects, managing submissions, revisions, and design interfaces to maintain consistency and knowledge transfer.
- Draft employer requirements and technical specifications, and review design deliverables to validate compliance with project budget and performance objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement value-engineering and cost-reduction opportunities during design and construction phases.
- Lead regular design coordination and technical query (TQ) meetings between engineering contractors and site teams; resolve or escalate design issues promptly.
- Oversee on-site installation activities, ensuring the correct assembly, electrical integration, and compliance with safety standards; troubleshoot construction issues to prevent delays.
About You To be successful in this position you will have at least 7 years’ experience in an Engineering and Completions management role within utility scale storage (PV or BESS), or similar electrical infrastructure projects with a strong understanding and awareness of Australian Standards, project implementation, constructability, WHS, environmental and community issues within a heavy construction environment.
In addition, you will be able to demonstrate the following;
- Proven expertise in high-voltage electrical systems, battery technology, power electronics, and plant control systems.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering multi-disciplined engineering packages on schedule and within budget.
- Strong background in CAD tools (AutoCAD 2D/3D), P&IDs, and engineering document control.
- Experience with SCADA integration, BMS architecture, and grid-interconnection studies.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian Engineering standards.
- Strong knowledge of completion engineering and commissioning protocols.
- Familiarity with regulatory expectations and quality assurance processes
- Well-developed leadership skills with the ability to direct and coordinate a range of people to meet project objectives
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, multitask, prioritise own workload and work unsupervised
