About the Role We are looking for an experienced HSE Lead to join our team on our Collie Battery Energy Storage System Project located in Collie. This role is available on a 10/4 DIDO roster from Perth on a Full-Time basis for the duration of the project. Reporting to the Project HSE Manager you will provide back to back coverage and be responsible for advising project management and supervision on the safe execution and implementation of work practices and procedures in accordance with the Acts, Regulations, Company and client policies and procedures.
In addition, some of your key tasks will include
- Liaise with client representatives and external bodies to identify safety requirements and standards specific to the project.
- Assist the Project Manager in reviewing, improving and implementing project safety management requirements.
- Identify hazards, establish suitable controls and implement procedures for HSE management.
- Review the WHSE management system and practices to take into account operational requirements and client WHSE management system requirements.
- Assist in identifying WHSE training needs (Gap Analysis) for the project or operation, in conjunction with Senior Construction Personnel.
- Assist in the induction of new employees on HSE responsibilities.
- Liaise with subcontractors in relationships to HSE requirements.
About You To be successful in this position you will hold tertiary qualifications in workplace health and safety with at least 5 years’ experience as a Senior HSE Advisor working on heavy industrial sites.
In addition, you will be able to demonstrate the following
- Strong commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
- Well-developed communication and influencing skills (both verbal and written)
- Excellent computer skills with sound knowledge of WHSE Management Systems and the MS Office Suite
- Ability to coordinate work priorities, multi task, prioritise own workload and work unsupervised
- Excellent time management and organisation skills in order to meet deadlines
