Commercial Director
Leeds | Office Based
£70,000 - £80,000 Basic + Bonus

A senior commercial leadership role with the opportunity to shape the next phase of growth. This is not simply a sales or marketing leadership role.

We're looking for a commercially minded business leader who understands what makes a B2C business grow — and knows how sales, marketing, operations and financial performance all need to work together to deliver it.

You'll be joining a highly successful, entrepreneurial B2C business that has experienced significant growth and is now embarking on an ambitious next phase. This is a key role in that journey, with responsibility for helping shape the strategy and performance of the business as it continues to scale.

You'll have genuine ownership of the commercial performance of the business, including P&L responsibility, and will play a key role at board level.

What will you be doing?
You'll take a broad commercial view of the business, understanding the numbers, identifying opportunities and making sure the different parts of the operation are working together to drive growth and profitability.

You'll be looking at questions such as:

• Where is growth coming from today and where will the next level come from?
• How effectively are we attracting and converting new customers?
• Which marketing and sales channels are delivering the strongest return?
• Where are there opportunities to improve conversion, customer value and profitability?
• What does the data tell us about the performance of the business?
• Where do we need to invest, change or improve to support the next phase of growth?

You'll then turn those insights into action.

This means setting commercial strategy, driving sales and marketing performance, improving operational effectiveness and ensuring the business has the structure, people and processes needed to achieve its ambitions.

You'll also take responsibility for the numbers, with P&L ownership and regular involvement at board level. You'll be comfortable presenting performance, challenging assumptions and using commercial insight to influence strategic decisions.

What are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who has already operated at a senior level within a fast-moving, scaling B2C business.

You may already be operating at MD level, or you could be a Commercial Director or senior commercial leader ready to take that next step.

Your background will ideally span sales, marketing and operations, with a strong understanding of customer acquisition and what it takes to compete and win in a busy B2C market.

You'll be someone who:

• Has experience running a business or significant commercial function with P&L responsibility
• Has worked in a fast-growth B2C environment where customer acquisition and commercial performance really matter
• Understands sales, marketing and operations and how they need to work together
• Uses numbers, data and commercial insight to make better business decisions
• Understands how to attract customers in a competitive market and turn demand into profitable revenue
• Has experience presenting to and influencing a board
• Is commercially entrepreneurial, hands-on and comfortable challenging the status quo
• Can balance strategic thinking with the detail needed to make things happen
• Is motivated by growth, performance and building a business

Why join?
This is a rare opportunity to take genuine ownership of the commercial performance of a successful business at an exciting point in its growth.

The foundations are already there. The business has a strong track record, significant momentum and ambitious plans for the future. Now they need a senior commercial leader who can help turn that ambition into the next stage of growth.

You'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact across the business, influence strategy at board level and shape how the organisation develops as it scales.

For someone who is already operating at senior commercial level — or is ready to step up into a broader business leadership role — this could be a hugely exciting opportunity.
