ASSOCIATE, ASSET MANAGEMENT
Shanghai
THE OPENING
An international shipowning and management group with a diversified fleet is building its presence in Shanghai, and this is one of its first hires there. Chinese yards, lessors and financiers play a major part in how the group grows and renews its fleet. This role puts someone on the ground to work those relationships every day.
THE ROLE
You’ll handle the commercial side of the group’s fleet activity in China. That means building and owning relationships with shipyards, leasing houses, banks, owners and charterers, and representing the group at meetings and industry events. You’ll support live transactions, including newbuilding contracts, secondhand acquisitions and disposals, and financing structures, from the first analysis and presentations through to execution with teams in Europe. You’ll also give decision makers a clear read on Chinese shipbuilding capacity, financing appetite and charter markets. You’ll work closely with the group’s China lead and its head of asset management, and learn directly from both.
