Chartering Manager, CPP Tankers
Singapore

Our client is a tanker owner moving clean petroleum products, and it is adding a Charterer in Singapore to work Asian cargoes and vessel positions alongside a chartering desk run from its head office in Europe. You will be the desk’s presence in the region, close to the brokers, charterers and market information that move first in Asia.

The role

• You will find and negotiate cargoes and employment for CPP tankers, working directly with brokers and charterers to close fixtures that keep ships well positioned and earning. You will track freight rates, cargo flows and competitor activity in the region and turn that into clear views on where the fleet should go next.
• You will work with the operations team on vessel deployment and on any issues that come up between fixture and delivery. You report to the Head of Chartering and give them a regular read on the Asian market and on how your fixtures are performing.

The right person

• You have 3 to 8 years in tanker chartering, operations or broking, ideally in clean petroleum products or a closely related tanker segment.
• You negotiate with confidence, communicate clearly and hold your own on calls with brokers and senior colleagues in other time zones.
• You bring energy and want to learn. The desk will teach you how it trades, and you are expected to pick it up quickly and contribute.

Why this role
