A Dutch family-owned business with more than fifty years in marine electrical supply is opening its first office in Singapore, and this is the first person they're hiring to build it. You'd join at the very start, working side by side with the incoming Managing Director to stand up the operation from an empty warehouse to a functioning business. This is for someone who wants to build something and grow with it, not slot into a fixed job.
THE ROLE
This role spans warehouse, operations, and sales support from the outset, broadening as the business grows. Day to day you'll run goods receiving, unload containers, pick and pack orders, manage stock and inventory, handle customer returns, and keep the warehouse organised — while also supporting order processing, customer service, and quotations as the order book builds. As the operation grows, so does the scope: procurement and supplier coordination, customer meetings, tender and RFQ management, and eventually supervising and hiring your own team. The honest version: it's hard work while the team is small, and the reward is real ownership over what you build. For the right person this becomes a senior leadership role helping run the Singapore business within a few years.
