Not based in Sydney? No problem! While the team is based in Sydney CBD, we're also open to considering experienced recoveries professionals based in Melbourne and Brisbane for remote opportunities.

What Will You Be Doing? You'll manage a portfolio of commercial accounts requiring a more specialised recoveries approach, including debts that have progressed through late-stage collections and into write-off.

This isn't simply about making calls. It's about understanding each account, identifying recovery opportunities and determining the most effective way forward.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of complex commercial recoveries accounts from investigation through to resolution
• Working with written-off accounts to identify opportunities for recovery
• Negotiating payment arrangements, settlements and commercially appropriate outcomes
• Conducting skip tracing and investigations to locate customers and establish contact
• Handling challenging conversations with customers and negotiating practical solutions
• Assessing financial circumstances and identifying appropriate recovery strategies
• Liaising with solicitors, field agents and external recovery partners
• Supporting litigation and legal recovery processes where required
• Assessing the commercial viability of recovery action and recommending next steps
• Working towards individual recovery targets and KPIs
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements

What Are We Looking For? We're looking for someone who brings hands-on collections or recoveries experience, strong commercial judgement and the confidence to manage complex accounts independently.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience in late-stage collections, recoveries or post-write-off debt recovery
• Experience managing your own portfolio and delivering measurable recovery results
• Strong negotiation skills, including payment arrangements and settlements
• Confidence handling difficult conversations and re-engaging customers
• Experience with skip tracing, investigations or locating difficult-to-contact customers
• Understanding of litigation, legal escalation or external recovery processes
• A commercially minded approach to determining the best recovery strategy
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and ability to prioritise competing accounts
• Experience working towards individual financial recovery targets
• A resilient, persistent and solutions-focused attitude
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

Experience in commercial lending, SME finance or legal recoveries will be highly regarded. Salesforce experience is advantageous but not essential.
