WorkTrybe is excited to partner with OnDeck Australia who have a rare opportunity offering an experienced Financial Controller to join their fintech business at an exciting stage of expansion.

Working closely with the CFO, executive team, and senior leadership group, this role is far more than a traditional “hands-off” finance position. We’re looking for someone commercially minded, technically strong, and confident operating in a fast-paced environment where they can genuinely influence performance and decision-making across the business.

With over a decade of innovation in the Australian lending space, OnDeck continues to evolve how small businesses access finance. Combining technology, data, and customer experience to deliver fast and flexible funding solutions to Australian SMEs.

As Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership across:

• Financial reporting and month-end/year-end processes
• Treasury, cash flow, and funding operations
• Warehouse facilities and securitisation reporting
• Tax compliance and regulatory obligations
• Financial controls, governance, and risk management
• Process improvement and finance systems enhancement
• Commercial analysis and business support
• Leading and mentoring a high-performing finance team

This role will suit someone who enjoys being close to the business and wants exposure across both operational and commercial finance.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• CA/CPA qualification
• Strong technical accounting and reporting expertise
• Experience within financial services, fintech, lending, banking, or securitisation environments
• A hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
• Commercial acumen and the ability to partner with stakeholders across the business
• Confidence managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment
• Strong leadership capability and a proactive mindset
