WorkTrybe is partnering with a dynamic Brisbane-based business to appoint a Senior Accountant for an immediate-start contract role, with genuine potential to become permanent.

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys variety, ownership and making an impact quickly. You’ll join a business in growth mode, supporting day-to-day finance operations while also contributing to process improvement, reporting and system transformation.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for someone who can step in with confidence, take ownership of core accounting activities and help strengthen a busy finance function.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and the wider finance team across month-end, reporting, reconciliations, compliance, budgeting and finance projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting month-end close, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparing financial reporting, analysis and Board reporting support
• Managing BAS, GST reconciliations, FBT and compliance activities
• Contributing to annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
• Supporting the preparation of annual financial statements and assisting with external audit requirements
• Liaising with external payroll consultants to ensure accurate payroll reporting and reconciliations
• Supporting transformation projects, including accounting system migration
• Providing backup support across transactional finance when required

What You’ll Bring

• CA or CPA qualification
• Strong accounting, reporting and reconciliation experience with advanced Microsoft Office incl. Excel
• Experience in audit, accounting practice or a fast-paced industry environment
• Confidence working autonomously and managing competing priorities
• Experience with Business Central, Xero, and Dynamics is highly regarded
• Experience in the Energy Sector is also a plus!
