WorkTrybe is partnering exclusively with Sumo Energy as they continue building out their new Queensland team. This is your opportunity to join at the ground level and play a key role in the operational backbone of the business during a major transformation.
The Role:
As a Customer Operations Officer you'll sit within the back-office Market Interactions team, supporting the end-to-end customer lifecycle behind the scenes.
This role focuses on the coordination, processing and investigation work required to onboard customers, action customer site change requests and ensure everything is set up correctly within the National Energy Market.
This is a high-volume, process-driven role where attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to manage multiple systems is key.
- Managing and ensuring successful customer onboarding and account setup processes
- Raising service orders, coordinating connections, abolishments, disconnections and solar reconfigurations
- Processing customer self - reads and tariff changes
- Working with metering providers and external vendors coordinating meter exchanges and alterations
- Investigating account read and tariff queries and resolving discrepancies
- Timely action of customer move-out requests
- Processing high volumes of transactions and meter data daily
- Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g. Energex, Ausgrid)
- Navigating market systems and ensuring data accuracy
- Maintaining detailed and accurate records
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience in a high-volume administrative or operations role
- Background in utilities, energy, telecommunications or similar industries highly regarded
- Experience in coordination-based roles where accuracy and process are critical
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage repetitive, transactional work
- Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve issues
- Confident working across multiple systems
- Strong written communication and record-keeping skills
- A proactive approach and ability to work within structured processes
