Manufacturing Engineering Technician III – Medical Devices
Help bring a life-saving medical device from engineering into production.
BiVACOR is developing a Total Artificial Heart - a breakthrough Class III medical device designed to support patients with advanced heart failure. The team at WorkTrybe are helping BiVACOR find a Manufacturing Engineering Technician III to join their Huntington Beach team and support the transition from development into scaled, compliant manufacturing.
This is a hands-on technician role, not a production operator position. You’ll work closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Quality, and Operations to help turn complex designs into reliable, repeatable manufacturing processes in a highly regulated environment. This could be a great opportunity for a Junior Engineer to learn, develop and work alongside incredible engineering professionals.
What you’ll be doing
Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing and test equipment
Support equipment and process validations, including IQ, OQ, and PQ
Perform routine equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure reliability and uptime
Build and test medical devices in compliance with work instructions and environmental controls
Develop and support assembly and test fixtures
Inspect supplier components and finished devices against quality documentation
Troubleshoot product and process issues and contribute to root cause investigations
Support process improvements alongside manufacturing and quality engineers
Assist with creation and maintenance of work instructions, drawings, and manufacturing documentation
Maintain accurate records to support FDA, ISO 13485, and GMP compliance
Provide technical support and training to operators on equipment and processes
What we’re looking for
Associate degree or certification in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
3+ years’ experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production — within medical devices, aerospace, or other heavily regulated manufacturing environments
Or if you are a Junior Engineer within manufacturing this is also a great opportunity to start in a Technician role and work your way up!
Strong hands-on experience with equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Someone who is eager to learn and develop - there are so many growth opportunities in this start-up
Experience working in FDA / ISO-regulated manufacturing environments
Comfortable working independently with a quality-first mindset
Strong attention to detail and documentation
