ROLE – Industrial Design Engineer
  
SALARY - $100,000 - $120,000 per annum, dependent on experience
  
TYPE – Permanent
  
LOCATION – Sydney, NSW
  
My client designs and manufactures high-tech equipment in an exciting industry. They are looking for an Industrial Design Engineer to join their team in the Sydney area on a permanent basis.
  
The Industrial Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar Product / Industrial / Mechanical Design Engineering position
• Degree qualified in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Highly skilled with 3D CAD, ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 etc.
• Experience with Keyshot, Adobe Suite, Illustrator or similar packages would be beneficial too
• Ideally have a background in Consumer Electronics, Medical, Defence or a related high-tech industry
• Good theoretical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
• Experienced designing products from concept to production
• Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
• Able to work well individually as well as part of a team

  
The Industrial Design Engineer role will involve:

• Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
• Managing the full product lifecycle from concept to production
• Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
• Liasing with manufacturing providers
• Being involved in final assembly
• Creating required documentation for design and project reports
• Updating 3D models and drawings
• Inputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMs
• Checking drawings for sign off
• Working in a small, multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
