ROLE – Senior Fire Protection Design Engineer
  
SALARY - $110,000 - $160,000 per annum, dependent on experience
  
TYPE – Permanent
  
LOCATION – Sydney, NSW
  
My client provides engineering services in the Construction sector, including the delivery of fire protection solutions across commercial and industrial projects.
  
They are looking for a Senior Fire Protection Design Engineer to join their team in the Sydney area on a permanent basis.
  
The Senior Fire Protection Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• At least 5+ years of experience in Fire Protection Design
• Background in the Construction industry with strong knowledge of installation and fit-out procedures
• Excellent CAD skills – AutoCAD required, Revit preferred
• Solid understanding of fire protection systems including sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, and detection systems
• Ideally be Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering, or similar
• Good knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (e.g. AS 2118, AS 2419, NCC)
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams within construction projects
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines and budgets
• Experience producing and maintaining technical documentation and drawings
• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team

  
The Senior Fire Protection Design Engineer role will involve:

• Designing fire protection systems using Revit and producing detailed technical drawings
• Performing hydraulic calculations and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
• Managing projects from concept through to construction, installation and commissioning
• Coordinating with architects, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams
• Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and clients throughout project delivery
• Reviewing and approving design documentation and drawings for compliance
• Preparing technical reports and project documentation
• Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development
• Working within a multidisciplinary environment on a variety of projects
