Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

A leading engineering firm specializing in the design and manufacture of advanced mechanical systems. Their dedication to innovation, practical design solutions, and rigorous engineering practices has earned them a strong reputation across various industries, both locally and internationally. 

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of the mechanical design of centrifugal and axial fans and their associated components. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring structural integrity, performance, safety, and efficiency, while adhering to diverse client specifications and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop 2D and 3D CAD drawings for client approvals and fabrication.
• Design fan systems with focus on performance, vibration, noise, thermal management, safety, and material selection.
• Liaise with internal teams (sales, production, quality, and project) to resolve design/manufacturing challenges.
• Prepare components for laser and plasma cutting.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Assist in the development of CAD libraries, QA documentation, and calculation tools.
• Support the sales team during the tender process.
• Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and fan performance testing to relevant standards.
• Create detailed technical reports and documentation.
• Perform inspections of fabrication/assembly drawings as required.
• Attend occasional site visits for installation, commissioning, or inspections.
• Work within and contribute to the company's Quality Management System.

Requirements:

• A relevant engineering qualification and/or significant industry experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks).
• A strong understanding of OH&S practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full Australian working rights.
