An Australian R&D and manufacturing company based in Adelaide is expanding their production team and is now hiring a Composite Lead to take ownership of composite manufacturing activities within the production team.
 
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical composite expertise with day-to-day guidance of technicians, quality oversight, and close collaboration with engineering and production teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the tools while also setting standards, mentoring others, and ensuring composite components are delivered to the highest quality.   
 
This is a full-time, Adelaide-based role.   
 
Full relocation is required for interstate candidates.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee composite lay-up, trimming, curing, and finishing operations
• Act as the technical point of contact for composite manufacturing on the production floor
• Prepare and approve moulds, materials, and components for production
• Ensure composite processes are followed in line with work instructions and quality standards
• Conduct and oversee visual inspections and quality checks of finished parts
• Support continuous improvement of composite manufacturing processes
• Guide, mentor, and support composite technicians and production staff
• Work closely with engineers to support prototyping, design iterations, and production readiness
• Ensure safe operation of hand and power tools and adherence to WHS protocols
• Assist with production planning, workflow coordination, and workshop support as required   

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in composite fabrication within an aerospace or high-performance manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to lead or mentor technicians in a production setting
• Solid understanding of composite materials, processes, and quality requirements
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications
• High attention to detail with a strong commitment to product quality
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a hands-on workshop environment
• Reliable, team-oriented, and safety-focused
• Must be an Australian citizen
