A leading computer vision company developing real-time AI analytics solutions is hiring an AI/ML Researcher with strong experience in computer vision, image processing, or signal analytics.

Their technology applies advanced machine learning to large-scale video and sensor data, enabling automated pattern detection, object recognition, and anomaly identification in complex environments supporting efficient human decision-making across a range of industries.

In this role, you’ll work on translating academic research into real-world software, building and refining AI models for visual data and signal processing. You'll collaborate closely with a small, expert team of engineers and researchers in a hybrid work setup based in Melbourne.

This position is ideal for an early-to-mid-career AI/ML engineer or researcher with experience in computer vision and a desire to work on high-impact, applied AI problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement AI/ML algorithms for real-time video and image analysis
• Work with researchers to bring experimental models into production environments
• Handle video and sensor signal processing, anomaly detection, and object recognition tasks
• Optimize and scale models for deployment in real-time systems
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to ensure robust product performance

Requirements:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML, with a focus on computer vision or signal processing
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, with experience building deployable AI models
• Practical experience working with real-world data and complex systems
• Comfortable bridging research and implementation, turning prototypes into working products
• Must be based in Melbourne or willing to relocate (relocation support available)

Desirable but not mandatory:

• Prior work on video analytics, industrial monitoring, or sensor-based AI
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
• Familiarity with edge computing or real-time inference systems

This is a hybrid role requiring 2–3 days in the office (more in-office time expected early on). The company offers flexible working conditions and relocation support for candidates moving to Melbourne.
