With a strong history of growth, a solid project pipeline, and a proven record of success, the business continues to play a leading role in the region. In this role, you’ll help the business make smarter, faster decisions by improving reporting quality and ensuring clear communication with key stakeholders, including the Finance Manager, CFO and Managing Director. 

The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified Assistant Accountant hungry for growth and development to a Financial Accountant role. Leverage your expertise across end-of-month reporting, tax and systems.

As an Assistant Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

• Assist with monthly financial and management reporting
• Support lodgement of monthly and periodic compliance obligations, including BAS, payroll tax, and superannuation.
• Assist with month-end close including accruals, prepayments and journals 
• Monthly bank reconciliations
• Maintain fixed asset registers
• Assist with audit working papers 
• Assist with the improvement of accounting processes and systems
• Fortnightly payroll for a small team
• Backup to accounts payable and accounts receivable

Your Profile:
You will potentially be studying towards a CPA/CA. You will need to have the aspiration, dedication and motivation to transition into an Accountant role over the next 2 to 3 years. 

• Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant seeking progression into an Accountant role, OR solid bookkeeping experience within SMEs, ready to expand your skill set. Alternatively, you may have strong experience working for an accounting firm and looking to transition to a commercial organisation.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• The ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders
