The Organisation:
A well-respected Queensland state government department is looking for an experienced full function Accounts/Finance Officer.  You will be working for an organisation that has played a significant role in directly impacting the lives of thousands of Queenslanders. You will be reporting to a manager who is knowledgeable, supportive and considerate of his staff. The team environment is friendly, helpful and tight-knit. This will be a 5-month temporary role with a strong possibility of extension.  

The Position:
This is an exciting 5 month contract role that will involve: 

• Complete timely creation, processing and approval of accounts payable invoices
• Process purchase orders and accounts receivable documents
• Use applications such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, S4/HANA to complete tasks
• Assisting with entry level finance queries
• Assisting with payment runs
• Supporting office administration tasks such as booking interview rooms
• Assisting with entry level internal audit tasks 
• Assisting with contract renewals and data entry tasks 

Your Profile:
The ideal candidate for the role will:

• Have previous exposure to accounts payable roles/ finance officer roles 
• Friendly, approachable and independent 
• Great attention to detail
• Prior experience in government is ideal
