The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified Assistant Accountant hungry for study support, growth and development to an Accountant role. Leverage your expertise across end-of-month reporting, tax and systems.

As an Assistant Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

• Assist with ERP implementation (Microsoft Business Central)
• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for corporate stores
• Process general ledger journals and complete reconciliations
• Manage daily bank reconciliations and cash control reporting
• Assist with month-end close including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Conduct variance analysis and provide commentary on P&L results
• Support budget preparation and monitor performance against budgets
• Prepare GST and compliance reporting obligations
• Maintain fixed asset registers
• Liaise with internal stakeholders including Store Managers
• Support audit processes and ad hoc finance projects

Your Profile:
You will potentially be studying towards a CPA/CA. Although study support will be provided, you will need to have the aspiration, dedication and motivation to transition into an Accountant role over the next 18 to 36 months. 

• Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant seeking progression into an Accountant role, OR solid bookkeeping experience within SMEs, ready to expand your skill set. Alternatively, you may have strong experience working for an accounting firm and looking to transition to a commercial organisation.
