The Role

Our client in the construction sector is seeking an experienced Finance Manager / Administrator to join their team on a part-time basis, with occasional light EA support. The role will ideally be spread across 5 days (0.6 FTE), with flexibility around start and finish times.

Please note: this position is onsite, located just a few minutes south of Sydney CBD.

Responsibilities

Your role will be varied and hands-on, supporting both the accounts function and general office operations. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Overseeing smooth day-to-day running of the office.
• Managing financial operations within Xero (business and personal accounts).
• Raising purchase orders and creating invoices.
• Reconciling expenses and maintaining bookkeeping requirements.
• Managing payroll for a small team and preparing quarterly BAS.
• Building and maintaining trusted supplier relationships.
• Liaising with the external accountant as needed.
• Providing light EA support (e.g. diary management, scheduling, travel bookings – minimal).
• Supporting onboarding of subcontractors.
• Ordering supplies (uniforms, IT equipment, etc.)
• Organising team events and fostering a collaborative office culture.
• Providing ad hoc administrative support as required.

About You

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being the go-to person in a small, friendly team. To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Strong accounts experience, with proven skills in cloud-based finance software (Xero essential).
• Confidence in payroll, reconciliations, bookkeeping, and BAS preparation.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to follow up with team members when required.
• An interest in process improvement and driving efficiencies.
• A collaborative, positive approach to office culture and administration.
