Our client is a highly respected, family-owned South Australian structural steel engineering and fabrication company with deep roots in the region. They’ve been operating for over 50 years, evolving from a humble rural workshop into a nationally recognised leader in complex and heavy structural steel fabrication.
With a strong secured pipeline of major infrastructure work, they are seeking a senior Production Manager to oversee operations across five fabrication workshops within one large-scale facility.

This is not a single-workshop role.  This is a high-impact leadership opportunity with real operational scale - all based on one site.

The Role As Production Manager, you will take responsibility across five workshops with a strong focus on:

• Leadership and Management – Lead supervisors and trade teams, set clear expectations, build capability, and drive accountability across all workshops.
• Operational Performance – Oversee workflow, scheduling, labour planning, and resource allocation to ensure production targets are met efficiently.
• Safety and Compliance – Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to WHS standards and industry compliance requirements.
• Quality and Continuous Improvement – Maintain high fabrication standards while driving process improvement, productivity gains, and system enhancements.
• People and Culture – Foster a high-performance, team-focused environment where development, mentorship, and communication are prioritised.

This is a visible, hands-on leadership role. Time on the floor matters. Leadership by example matters.

What You’ll Bring

• 6- 10+ years’ experience in heavy or structural steel fabrication
• Demonstrated experience leading multiple teams or complex workshop environments
• Strong operational planning and coordination capability
• A practical, respected leadership style
• A genuine commitment to safety, quality, and team development
