As a Senior Data & AI Consultant, you will be a senior, hands-on consultant who architects and leads Microsoft Data & AI engagements. The role centres on Microsoft Fabric modern data platforms and the production delivery of Microsoft Copilot and AI agent solutions, supported by Azure and Power BI.
You will lead project inception, technical discovery, solution design and delivery, translating business needs into production-ready outcomes. You may also lead analytics, automation and broader AI use cases, drawing on specialists where required. It is preferred that this role will be located in Brisbane but we will consider candidates in Sydney and Melbourne who meet all the criteria required.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
In your role you will be responsible for:
• Lead project inception, technical discovery and solution design within client delivery engagements.
• Lead solution architecture and technical delivery for assigned projects and workstreams from design through deployment and handover.
• Own delivery planning, technical estimates, dependencies, risks, quality controls and acceptance criteria with the Project Manager and delivery team.
• Translate customer priorities and use cases into clear architecture, delivery roadmaps and measurable business outcomes.
• Design and deliver Microsoft Fabric modern data platforms spanning integration, engineering, lakehouse or warehouse design, semantic models, analytics and production operations.
• Design and deploy Microsoft Copilot Studio agents into production, integrated with enterprise data and processes.
• Establish production patterns for AI and agents covering security, testing, monitoring, guardrails, release management and lifecycle support.
• Shape and lead analytics, automation and AI use cases with specialists where required, maintaining a clear focus on adoption and value realisation.
• Remain hands-on through prototyping, solution development, design and code reviews, troubleshooting and quality assurance.
• Lead customer workshops and stakeholder discussions, clearly communicating technical decisions, trade-offs, risks and recommended actions.
• Mentor consultants through project delivery, contribute reusable delivery assets and methods, support continuous improvement, and consistently meet utilisation and client commitments.
Skills / Experienced required :
• Advanced, recent, relevant experience delivering complex data, analytics or AI solutions in consulting, professional services or comparable client environments.
• Proven senior consulting experience leading solution architecture and technical delivery for complex client projects, with responsibility for technical quality, risk and outcomes.
• Deep hands-on capability designing and delivering
Microsoft Fabric solutions, supported by Azure and Power BI.
• End-to-end modern data platform experience spanning architecture, data integration and engineering, lakehouse or warehouse design, semantic models, analytics, deployment and production support.
• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying Microsoft Copilot Studio agents into production and taking AI use cases from discovery or prototype into secure, supported environments, including enterprise data and process integration, security controls, testing, monitoring and lifecycle management.
• Strong hands-on engineering and architectural judgement, with the ability to review designs and code, resolve complex issues and enforce production-ready standards.
• Ability to shape and lead analytics, automation and AI use cases with specialist team members to achieve measurable business outcomes.
• Exceptional consulting and communication skills, including leading workshops and translating complex technical decisions for business, technical and senior stakeholders, ideally within a consulting or system intergrator organisation
• Demonstrated ability to mentor consultants, uplift delivery capability and create reusable delivery methods and assets.
Experience with Databricks and Snowflake is advantageous but not essential
