About the Role:
As a Welder Fabricator, you will plan, measure, fabricate, assemble, install, repair and weld truck bodies, trailers and transport equipment according to engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards. You will safely operate workshop tools and machinery and perform high-quality MIG welding structural steel and heavy vehicle components to meet production schedules and requirements.
 
You will be expected to: 

• Fabricate, assemble and weld truck bodies, trailers and transport equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans.
• Perform MIG welding on structural steel and heavy vehicle components.
• Cut, prepare, fit and finish metal components to specification.
• Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Carry out repairs and modifications to existing truck and trailer bodies.
• Complete work to quality, safety and production standards.
• Assist with the assembly and installation of finished components and accessories.

About You:
We’re looking for someone who brings the following skills and qualifications: 

• Minimum 3 years of welding or fabrication experience 
• Strong MIG welding experience 
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings 
• Experience working with structural steel or heavy fabrication.
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to meet English language requirements
• Ability to build positive working relationships and work effectively as part of a team
