About the Role:
As a welder, you will plan, measure, fabricate, assemble, install, repair and weld livestock handling equipment according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. You will safely operate workshop tools and machinery, perform high-quality MIG welding on carbon steel, inspect finished work, maintain a safe and organised workspace and collaborate with the team to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
 
You will be expected to: 

• Plan, measure, fabricate, assemble, fit, install, and weld livestock handling equipment and associated products to specification.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, blueprints, and product specifications to determine fabrication methods, dimensions, and assembly requirements.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, machinery, and workshop equipment safely and efficiently.
• Cut, trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and finish metal components using hand tools, portable power tools, grinders, lathes, and milling machines.
• Perform MIG welding (100% carbon steel) to a high standard, ensuring strong, accurate, and quality welds.
• Assemble fabricated components using welding, soldering, bolting, riveting, screwing, clipping, caulking, and bonding techniques.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and workplace requirements.
• Carry out repairs, modifications, and maintenance on livestock equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Complete all assigned tasks efficiently, accurately, and within required timeframes.

About You:
We’re looking for someone who brings the following skills and qualifications: 

• Proven overseas experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a related trade
• Strong MIG welding experience, particularly with carbon steel
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans
• Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, fabrication machinery and workshop equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to meet English language requirements 
• Ability to build positive working relationships and work effectively as part of a team
