About the Role:
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will diagnose faults, service, maintain and repair diesel engines, trucks, machinery and heavy equipment while conducting preventative maintenance and safety checks. You will also support workshop operations through accurate documentation, service scheduling, parts coordination and maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant workplace.
Your responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults on diesel engines and heavy equipment
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on trucks, machinery, and diesel-powered vehicles
- Conducting preventative maintenance and safety checks
- Troubleshooting breakdowns and performing repairs both in the workshop and occasionally on-site
- Maintaining accurate service records and job documentation
- Supporting the Workshop Foreman with vehicle service scheduling and planning
- Maintaining a clean and compliant workshop environment.
- Participating in workshop meetings and contributing to operational improvements
- Assisting with parts management, purchase orders, and supplier coordination
- Complying with all health and safety requirements and participating in health and safety initiatives.

About You:We're looking for someone who brings a strong mix of technical expertise, experience and capability:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic working with heavy transport equipment
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills using modern vehicle diagnostic systems
- Experience with Euro 5/6 engines, engine and gearbox repairs; Scania, Volvo and MAN experience is highly desirable
- MIG welding and fabrication experience is advantageous
- Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and commitment to ongoing development
- Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on mechanical duties
- Safety-focused, reliable and committed to high-quality workmanship
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
