Position: Painter
Location: Cromwell, Otago
Type: Full-time/Permanent
Pay Range: $25 to $36 per hour
Days: Monday to Friday (with occasional calls on weekends)
Hours: Guaranteed at least 30 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
As a Painter, you will prepare, restore, and finish interior and exterior surfaces to a high professional standard. You will be responsible for delivering quality workmanship while working safely, efficiently, and collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare internal and external surfaces including cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling, sealing, and priming
- Apply paints, primers, stains, varnishes, sealants, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Match colours and finishes to project specifications and customer requirements
- Set up and maintain safe work areas, including the use of ladders and scaffolding where required
- Conduct quality checks and rectify defects to ensure a professional finish
- Protect surrounding surfaces, furniture, and fixtures during painting activities
- Maintain painting equipment, tools, and materials in good working condition
- Minimise waste and maintain clean, organised worksites
- Build positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and other contractors onsite
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures
To be successful in this role, you will need: - At least 1 year of relevant painting experience.
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, paint systems, coatings, and finishing standards.
- Ability to safely operate painting equipment and work at heights when required.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Good communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physically fit, reliable, and capable of performing manual work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Site Safe Passport, Elevated Work Platform (EWP), and Scaffold User certifications are advantageous.
- Complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test on request.
- Provide an up-to-date criminal record check on request.
