Position: Painter
Location: Cromwell, Otago
Type: Full-time/Permanent
Pay Range: $25 to $36 per hour
Days: Monday to Friday (with occasional calls on weekends)
Hours: Guaranteed at least 30 hours per week

Our client is a professional painting and decorating company providing high-quality residential, commercial, and renovation painting services throughout Central Otago and the surrounding regions. Key Responsibilities:
As a Painter, you will prepare, restore, and finish interior and exterior surfaces to a high professional standard. You will be responsible for delivering quality workmanship while working safely, efficiently, and collaboratively as part of a dedicated team. 
 
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

• Prepare internal and external surfaces including cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling, sealing, and priming 
• Apply paints, primers, stains, varnishes, sealants, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment 
• Match colours and finishes to project specifications and customer requirements 
• Set up and maintain safe work areas, including the use of ladders and scaffolding where required 
• Conduct quality checks and rectify defects to ensure a professional finish 
• Protect surrounding surfaces, furniture, and fixtures during painting activities 
• Maintain painting equipment, tools, and materials in good working condition 
• Minimise waste and maintain clean, organised worksites 
• Build positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and other contractors onsite 
• Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures 

 
To be successful in this role, you will need: 

• At least 1 year of relevant painting experience. 
• Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, paint systems, coatings, and finishing standards. 
• Ability to safely operate painting equipment and work at heights when required. 
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements. 
• Good communication, organisational, and time management skills. 
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. 
• Physically fit, reliable, and capable of performing manual work. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Site Safe Passport, Elevated Work Platform (EWP), and Scaffold User certifications are advantageous. 
• Complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test on request. 
• Provide an up-to-date criminal record check on request.
