Position: Chemical Research Technician
Location: Wellington
Type: Full-time/Permanent
Pay Range: $28 to $33 per hour
Hours: Guaranteed 30 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
Support product development while actively contributing to production, ensuring seamless transition from lab formulation to full-scale manufacturing.
As a Chemical Research Technician, your main responsibilities will include developing and optimising chemical formulations while supporting production processes. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Formulation & R&D: Develop and refine formulations for cleaning, disinfectant, and hand care products
- Lab to Production: Scale up formulations from lab samples to full production batches
- Hands-on Production: Assist with batching and packing to ensure accurate execution of formulations
- Quality Assurance: Test raw materials and finished goods to maintain strict quality standards
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve formulation and production issues efficiently
- Continuous Improvement: Optimise chemical blends for performance, cost, and safety
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 3 years of proven relevant work experience, or hold a relevant NZQF diploma/higher qualification
- Experience in formulating cleaning chemicals and hand care products
- Understanding of surfactants, emulsifiers, and formulation chemistry
- A hands-on approach, with willingness to work in both lab and production environments (including heavy lifting)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in measurements and record-keeping
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
- Complete a pre-employment drug & alcohol test on request
- Provide an up-to-date criminal record check on request
