Position: Production Operator – Canning
Location: Pokeno
Type: Full‑time, Permanent
Hours: Shift work, with reasonable overtime as required

The Company
Be part of a well‑established New Zealand manufacturer producing premium nutritional products. Operating advanced canning and manufacturing technology, the business is committed to delivering safe, high‑quality product while maintaining strong standards in health, safety, hygiene, and continuous improvement. You will join a supportive and collaborative production team within the Canning business unit.

Key Responsibilities As a Production Operator, you will play a key role in running canning processes safely, efficiently, and to exacting standards. Responsibilities include:

• Operating all canning plant processes according to designated SOPs
• Ensuring product quality, food‑safety compliance, and adherence to hygiene standards
• Taking samples and completing production documentation accurately and on time
• Maintaining a high standard of personal and workplace cleanliness
• Communicating effectively with operators and management regarding issues, events, or abnormalities
• Following cleaning and sanitation procedures prior to production
• Reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately
• Accurately preparing formulations and using raw materials safely
• Contributing to routine and shutdown maintenance activities
• Participating in training, development, and continuous improvement activities
• Performing forklift operations for raw‑material movement (where certified)
• Supporting Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives
• Working shift patterns with flexibility for overtime
• Carrying out additional non‑production tasks to support site operations

To be successful in this role, you will have: Technical & Skill Requirements

• NCEA Level 3 or equivalent (preferred)
• Computer literacy
• Willingness to learn and follow procedures accurately
• Exposure to ERP systems (preferred)
• Understanding of lean manufacturing techniques (preferred)

Experience

• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience is required.
• Preferred experience includes:
  • Manufacturing or food‑processing background
  • FMCG exposure
  • Knowledge of dairy or nutritional powder processing
