Location: Timaru

Pay Range: Dep on exp
Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 6am – 5pm (optional Saturdays 6am–11am)
 
The Company:
Our client is a respected New Zealand manufacturer specialising in the design and production of agricultural equipment. They are known for quality craftsmanship, a tight-knit team culture, and a strong commitment to safety. As part of their growth and ongoing production needs, they are seeking a highly skilled Welder to join their team in Timaru.
 
Key Responsibilities
Join a collaborative team and contribute to high-quality fabrication work.
As a Welder Fabricator, your main responsibilities will include welding, fabricating, and preparing farming equipment and attachments. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Fabricate, position, and align components using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools
• Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment
• Follow blueprints and technical drawings with precision
• Perform quality checks and detect faults in materials or welds
• Use tools such as manual lathes, band saws, and drills for pre-fabrication
• Maintain health and safety standards at all times

 To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in welding and metal fabrication
• Experience using MIG welding techniques and reading technical drawings
• Ability to work with pre-fabrication tools including lathes and drilling machines
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual work in a workshop setting
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output
• Forklift licence and relevant NZQA Level 3 Certificate in Engineering Fabrication advantageous
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Must have a clean police report with no charges pending
