Position: Welder/Axle Assembler
Location: Dargaville, Northland
Type: Full-time/Permanent
Pay Range: $30 to $35 per hour
Days: Monday to Friday (with occasional calls on weekends)
Hours: Guaranteed at least 30 hours per week with standard hours of 40 hours per week

The company is a leading supplier of trailer parts and componentry, proudly manufacturing high-quality axle and suspension systems. With over 30 years of industry experience, they are known for innovation, performance, and a commitment to providing excellent solutions to the trailer and transport industry. They are now seeking a skilled Welder / Axle Assembler to support their growing production team and continue delivering top-quality products to their customers.
Key Responsibilities
As a Welder / Axle Assembler, your main responsibilities will include welding, axle processing, and axle assembly. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Weld pre-assembled axle components, such as stub axles, brake mounts, and suspension parts.
- Perform high-quality MIG welding with a focus on precision and durability.
- Cut, drill, clean, and paint axle components.
- Operate presses to create gullwing axles, camber adjustments, and Z-bar items for torsion suspensions.
- Assemble hubs, brakes, grease bearings, fit electrical components, and complete axles for dispatch.
- Adjust brake components and ensure full axle functionality and quality control.
- Other duties may include supporting kitset production, warehouse dispatch, and general manufacturing tasks as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need: - At least three years proven relevant work experience
- Certified proficiency or strong proven ability in MIG welding and fabrication
- Solid mechanical aptitude and ability to use cutting, drilling, and hand tools
- Physical fitness to handle manual work safely and effectively
- High attention to detail and strong quality assurance mindset
- Flexibility to assist across other departments if required
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Must have a clean police report with no charges pending
