Location: Penrose, Auckland
Type: Full time/Permanent
Pay range: $28 to $32 per hour
Days: 5 days per week, with occasional Saturdays
Hours: Guaranteed at least 30 hours, standard 40 hours per week, between the hours of 7AM to 6PM
  
The Company:
Our client is a leading commercial building contractor, offering a range of expert services including project management, quantity surveying, civil engineering, programming, accountancy, carpentry, site management, and concreting. Our client is committed to delivering high-quality, innovative solutions and fostering a collaborative, positive work environment. Our client is looking for a Hammerhand/Formwork Carpenter to construct, erect, install, renovate and repair structures using timber, plywood, wallboard, concrete and other materials available to the commercial construction industry.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  

• Represent the company professionally and uphold high standards
• Read drawing and specifications to interpret the design requirements and dimensions
• Ensure quality workmanship by doing tasks correctly the first time.
• Cut timber to size using hand or power tools
• Assemble and install fixtures and structures.
• Remove parts of existing structures.
• Coordinate with the site manager to order materials and prepare layouts
• Recommend measures to improve efficiency in all aspects of construction activity
• Follow safety procedures in accordance with company policies to maintain a safe work environment and to minimise risks.
• Assist in scaffold erection.

  
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  

• Experience: At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Skills: Familiarity with concrete construction, product installation, and intricate finishing.
• Knowledge: Proficient with a variety of construction materials (e.g., carbon steel, timbers, cements) and techniques.
• Attributes: Self-motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic. Collaborate with team members.
• Physically fit: Is able to lift at least 25kgs and an endure physically intense tasks throughout the day.
