Position: Registered Industrial Electrician
Location: Gisborne

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Industrial Electrician to join our team. The role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing company. The ideal candidate must have strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of electrical regulations, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation & Maintenance: Install, test, and maintain industrial electrical systems, machinery, and control panels.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical faults, ensuring minimal downtime in operations.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electrical work complies with New Zealand electrical standards and health & safety regulations.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to improve system reliability.
• Wiring & Circuitry: Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Equipment Calibration: Test and calibrate electrical systems, motors, and automation equipment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including reports on repairs, inspections, and installations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other tradespeople to ensure smooth operations.

• Valid New Zealand Electrical Registration & Practicing License (Registered with the EWRB).
• Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician, preferably in manufacturing, food processing, or heavy industry.
• Strong understanding of PLC systems, motor controls, and automation.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Familiarity with health & safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments.

• Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
