Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Sitework
Location: Columbia, SC

About the Role
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join a growing sitework construction team in the Columbia area. This role is ideal for someone with a blend of field and office experience who is eager to contribute to complex commercial projects ranging from $500K–$15M in value.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project management for commercial site development from initial clearing through finished paved surfaces.
• Perform site staking and layout (grades, curb & gutter, sidewalks, storm drainage).
• Assist with planning and scheduling activities, including equipment moves and material orders.
• Review material submittals and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Coordinate with client general contractors on strictly commercial projects.
• Conduct minor take-offs and prepare change orders.
• Manage project documentation and administrative tasks.
• Split time approximately 50% in the field and 50% in the office.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in commercial sitework construction.
• Degree preferred but not required (field experience strongly valued).
• Proficiency in Agtek or similar software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage one project independently, with the potential to grow into managing multiple.
• Driven, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $80K–$95K, paid weekly (DOE).
• Retirement program with 401k, profit sharing, and defined contribution plan (averaging 9–12% of gross pay annually).
• PTO: 5–10 vacation days annually (negotiable), plus sick leave and paid holidays.

Work Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 7:00/7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Rare Saturday work.
• Columbia-based projects (minimal travel required).
