Position Summary
The Civil Project Manager will be responsible for managing all phases of site construction projects—from bidding and pre-construction through completion—ensuring quality, safety, schedule, cost control, and client satisfaction. This role will serve as a bridge between the field and office, coordinating operations, subcontractors, permitting, materials, and internal teams. The ideal candidate is someone with proven civil construction project management experience who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that values transparency and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee civil site construction projects: grading, underground utilities, concrete, and asphalt.
• Lead preconstruction tasks: reviewing bid documents, assisting estimating, obtaining permits, and coordinating site investigations.
• Create, maintain, and monitor project schedules; ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
• Manage budgets and cost control: track and control expenses, change orders,
• subcontractor costs, materials, and labor.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, internal field teams, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Perform regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and resolve field issues promptly.
• Communicate with clients, senior leadership, and internal teams. Facilitate meetings.
• Mentor and develop assistant project managers and foremen.
• Resolve conflicts, delays, and unexpected challenges while keeping projects on track.

Qualifications – Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5–8 years of civil/site construction project management experience.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field operations.
• Strong communication skills with ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with permits, civil drawings, specifications, and local regulations.
• Proficient in project management software and cost tracking tools.
• Commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications – Preferred

• Experience with turnkey site work contracts.
• Familiarity with Charlotte, NC market or similar context.
• Leadership or mentorship experience.
• Ability to negotiate change orders and drive profitability.
