A well-established civil contractor in the Carolinas is looking to hire a Project Engineer to support ongoing growth in their asphalt paving and site development division.

This is a growth-oriented position supporting Project Managers and Estimators on a range of projects including road resurfacing, parking lots, and general asphalt work. The role offers mentorship, internal advancement, and exposure to a wide variety of work scopes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist PMs and Estimators with project oversight from bid to close-out
• Conduct site visits to support quality tracking, schedule updates, and quantity verification
• Maintain daily logs and assist with pay quantity tracking and reporting
• Coordinate delivery schedules and materials purchasing
• Support cost tracking, change order documentation, and client communication
• Assist with bid prep when needed
• Be ready to jump into new areas, ask questions, and support the team wherever needed

Required Skills

• HCSS (HeavyBid/HeavyJob), Vista, AutoCAD
• 1–5 years in construction (asphalt, utilities, or grading a plus)
• Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (not required)
• Strong work ethic and ability to stay focused and productive throughout the day

Hours & Work Environment

• Flexi Hours
• Approx. 40 hours/week
• 60% office / 40% field
• Casual, family-oriented office culture (company cookouts, team outings, etc.)
• Must be able to work in the office

Compensation & Benefits

• Truck allowance: $600–$800/month
• 401(k) match up to 5% after 6 months
• Employee stock purchase plan available immediately (15% discount)
• PTO: 2 weeks after 90 days (pro-rated)
• Paid holidays
• $150/year boot stipend
• Weekly pay
