Thomas Search are delighted to be partnering with a high-growth, specialist ESG consultancy to appoint a Senior to Principal Environment and Social Consultant into a senior, influential role within their advisory practice. You will take the lead on complex environmental and social advisory projects that unlock investment into some of the world's most challenging infrastructure, energy and development programmes.
We're partnering with an ambitious, rapidly growing environmental consultancy looking to appoint an experienced Senior or Principal Consultant to strengthen its international Environmental & Social advisory team.
This is an opportunity to work with global lenders, investors and developers, helping shape major infrastructure and development projects across Africa, Asia, Latin America and other emerging markets.
 
The Role
 
You'll lead Environmental & Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), Environmental & Social Due Diligence (ESDD) and lender advisory commissions across a diverse portfolio of international projects.
Working directly with investors, financial institutions and project developers, you'll translate complex environmental and social risks into practical commercial advice that supports investment decisions and international lending requirements.
 
Projects span sectors including:

• Renewable Energy
• Mining
• Infrastructure
• Power & Utilities
• Transport
• Industrial Development
• International Finance 

Responsibilities

• Lead complex ESIA and ESDD projects from inception through delivery
• Advise international lenders and developers on environmental and social risk
• Deliver work aligned to IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles
• Produce high-quality technical reports and management plans
• Manage multidisciplinary international project teams
• Build long-term client relationships
• Mentor junior consultants
• Support proposals and business development
• Help shape the future direction of a growing consultancy

You'll Bring

• 7+ years' experience within Environmental & Social Consulting
• Strong ESIA and/or ESDD experience
• Project Finance experience
• IFC Performance Standards
• Equator Principles
• International lender advisory
• Stakeholder engagement
• Environmental Management Systems
• Strong commercial awareness
• Ability to manage multiple international projects simultaneously

Experience with organisations such as the IFC, EBRD, World Bank, AfDB, ADB or major international lenders would be highly advantageous.
 
You'll advise some of the world's leading investors, lenders and developers on projects that genuinely influence environmental and social outcomes at international scale.
