Programme Director - Building Safety Remediation
Location: London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester

Thomas Search are working on behalf of an independent consultancy to appoint an outstanding opportunity for a Programme Director to lead their national building safety remediation programme. This is a portfolio wide programme and You will take full end-to-end ownership of delivery, governance, and client relationships for a multi-year portfolio subject to the Building Safety Act. This dedicated position directs a comprehensive PMO team and technical resource pool to ensure absolute statutory compliance.
 
You will:

• Own end-to-end delivery of the multi-workstream remediation programme.
• Chair governance forums including the fortnightly Remediation Delivery Committee.
• Enforce stage-gated portfolio management, KPIs, SLAs, and risk management.
• Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Act as primary day-to-day relationship holder with Fund Managers and Sponsors.
• Coordinate developer engagement across a panel of national housebuilders.
• Manage the PMO Director, PMO Manager, and matrix technical teams.
• Allocate resources across building surveyors, structural engineers, and project managers.
• Oversee Building Safety Act compliance and Higher-Risk Building (HRB) registrations.
• Manage Building Safety Regulator (BSR) Gateways and Golden Thread obligations.
• Own the programme's fee budget, cash flow forecasting, and cost recovery.
• Support Building Safety Fund (BSF) and Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS) applications.

 
You'll bring:

• MAPM (or equivalent project/programme management chartership).
• 15+ years of industry experience with senior programme leadership track record.
• Led large, multi-workstream compliance programmes for major real estate clients.
• Expert knowledge of the Building Safety Act and HRB regimes.
• Superb matrix leadership and C-suite stakeholder management skills.
• MSP or Prince2 Practitioner qualification.
• Specific expertise in fire safety, structural, or façade remediation.
• Familiarity with digital data platforms and Golden Thread principles.
