Job Description:

Want to lead a brand-new team in a fast-paced environment? Sunny are recruiting a Hands-on Site/Shift Supervisor for our clients state-of-the-art Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Swansea. This role demands a proactive leader who can manage site safety and daily operations while being fully prepared to step onto the plant to cover peak demand. You’ll be responsible for driving high-quality recycling outputs and managing critical data as our client ramps up production at this new site.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• You'll run the daily shift from start to finish—from "Safe Start" briefings to final shut-down.
• You'll oversee the yard and processing operations, including operating mobile plant when required.
• Mastermind the flow of vehicles and tipping operations alongside our weighbridge team.
• Monitor process flow and feed rates to prevent downtime and keep the facility running at peak efficiency.
• Ensure every tonne of material meets our high standards by managing routing and stopping contamination in its tracks.
• Keep the "paperwork" as clean as the plant. You’ll record deliveries, outputs, and downtime with precision.
• Identify site issues, escalate them quickly, and track them through to a resolution.

What you'll bring: 

• You'll have solid experience in Waste, Recycling, or heavy industrial operations (Commissioning or "ramp-up" experience is a plus).
• You'll have hands-on competence with Telehandlers, Loading Shovels, or Waste Handlers (CPCS/NPORS tickets preferred).
• High standards in Health & Safety and machinery risk management (IOSH, NEBOSH, or WAMITAB awareness is highly valued).
• Familiarity with MRF systems like Shredders, Trommels, Magnets, or Optical Sorters is an advantage.
• Strong judgment in fast-paced environments, backed by solid IT and record-keeping skills.
