Procurement Compliance Officer

An opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Compliance Officer to join the organisation on a temporary cover basis. This role is responsible for ensuring procurement activities are compliant with internal policies, external regulations, and best practice standards.
Working closely with Procurement and Finance, you will help maintain accurate records, manage supplier documentation, and ensure contracts and purchasing processes remain fully compliant.

The Role
You will support procurement governance by monitoring compliance, maintaining the contracts database, and ensuring supplier documentation and purchase orders are processed accurately and in line with procedures.
The role requires strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure procurement activities align with organisational policies and legislation
• Maintain and update the contracts database
• Manage annual renewal of supplier documentation
• Raise and receipt purchase orders in line with procedures
• Monitor contract expiries and support renewals
• Conduct supplier credit checks and performance reviews
• Undertake cost and spend analysis
• Resolve purchase order, invoice, and contract queries
• Support tender evaluations and continuous improvement initiatives

Person Specification
       Essential

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a procurement or finance role
• Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• High level of integrity and commitment to compliance
  
  Desirable
• AAT or CIPS qualification
• Knowledge of Business Central or similar accounting systems
• Experience or understanding of marine/port operations
